2011 Summer Rock Camp Registration Is Open

Registrations for our 2011 Summer Rock Camp, Crash Course, is now open!  Camp is open to young musicians between the ages of 12 and 16 years old, on guitar (acoustic & electric), bass, keyboard, drums and voice.  Campers DO NOT have to be students at Music & Rock School to participate, but they should have prior experience playing their instruments (understand the basics and have the ability to perform complete songs).

Campers will work in a band setting for two weeks, name their band, select and arrange songs, write music, and play a live concert for friends and family!  Tir Na Nog Irish Pub in Downtown Raleigh will host the final performance this year.  We're really excited about this, as Tir Na Nog is a great live music venue, but it's also family-friendly, with a full menu of fantastic food.

We're also excited about the coach who will be working with the kids this year.  William Dawson is a former member of international touring act Squirrel Nut Zippers, as well as an elementary school music teacher in Hillsborough.  He has years of experience as both a professional musician and a teacher, which is the perfect mix for the campers.  Currently, William also fronts his own groups, The Alkazar Hotel, and plays in Katherine Whalen's Lucky.
